INTERSCHUTZ 2022 | 20. – 25. Juni
INTERSCHUTZ will be rescheduled and will now take place from 20 to 25 June 2022. The decision to reschedule the world's leading trade fair for firefighting, rescue, civil protection and safety was made after thorough deliberations and intensive discussions with the market on the part of Deutsche Messe AG. As with numerous other trade fairs and events, the reasons for this decision in the case of INTERSCHUTZ lie in the current developments in the global infectious disease situation in the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic.
"Especially world-leading trade fairs like INTERSCHUTZ have a long-term planning horizon and require a lead time of several months. In addition, the industries that participate in INTERSCHUTZ as exhibitors or visitors are maximally involved in current infection events around the world," said Dr. Andreas Gruchow, Member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Messe AG, commenting on the decision. "INTERSCHUTZ takes place in a trade fair cycle of 5 years. The community, consisting of firefighting, rescue and civil protection professionals, is more than eagerly awaiting the next edition. Especially against this background, the decision to reschedule was very difficult for us. However, intensive discussions with partners, exhibitors and representatives of key visitor target groups have confirmed that this step is unavoidable. Everyone welcomes the decision to hold the event in the summer of 2022. Only in this way can we offer all those involved the necessary planning security for their trade show preparations. In addition, a world-leading trade show also thrives on numerous international visitors and, in particular, on personal encounters. In view of worldwide travel restrictions and limitations, a trade show with this global appeal cannot currently be seriously prepared on the customer side," continues Gruchow.
"The omens for INTERSCHUTZ have been very good for a long time. We already had record participation for the edition originally planned for June 2020. We are confident that exhibitors will now join us in shaping INTERSCHUTZ 2022, then for the first time as a hybrid event. The pandemic has made us all aware of how important the fire, rescue and civil protection sectors are. In addition, we expect significant increases in investment in these sectors all over the world. These are the best conditions for our marketplace," added Martin Folkerts, Global Director INTERSCHUTZ at Deutsche Messe AG. "More than any other event, INTERSCHUTZ thrives on personal contact, networking and direct exchange. It is THE platform for the global community.
"The manufacturers of fire fighting technology in the VDMA expressly welcome the postponement of INTERSCHUTZ to 2022. For us, INTERSCHUTZ is the industry's most important international trade show. And our expectation is that it will seamlessly continue the great success from 2015. We are certain that the conditions are right for this in 2022. Our highly innovative industry will have numerous exciting innovations in its program by then. And the German as well as international visitors will make INTERSCHUTZ 2022 the big live event of the year as we know it," comments Dr. Bernd Scherer, Member of the Executive Board at VDMA Fire Technology, on the new date for INTERSCHUTZ in June 2022.
Auch Dirk Aschenbrenner, Präsident der Vereinigung zur Förderung des Deutschen Brandschutzes (vfdb), begrüßt die Entscheidung, die INTERSCHUTZ auf 2022 zu verschieben: „Unsere Einsatzkräfte sind und bleiben auch in den kommenden Monaten überaus gefordert. Für Tausende von ihnen ist die INTERSCHUTZ – wie wir wissen – immer eine willkommene Gelegenheit zur Information, zum Erfahrungsaustausch und zum Netzwerken. Das alles wäre derzeit in dieser angespannten Situation nicht möglich. Doch ohne die vielen Besucher auch aus dem ideellen Bereich wäre die INTERSCHUTZ nicht das, was sie immer schon war. Auch die Aussteller schätzen den direkten Kontakt mit denen, die letzten Endes ihre Produkte und Dienstleistungen nutzen. Die Branche braucht diesen Austausch zwischen Anbietern und Anwendern.“
Dieter Siegel, CEO of Rosenbauer International AG, welcomes the new date for INTERSCHUTZ in the summer of 2022: "Unfortunately, the COVID-19 crisis still has us all firmly in its grip and does not yet allow trade fairs and major events to be held safely at the current time. However, the safety and health of people is of course our top priority as a system provider in fire and disaster protection. We therefore support the postponement of INTERSCHUTZ until 2022, because we all want nothing more than an INTERSCHUTZ as we know it: an unforgettable trade fair experience and a meeting place for fire departments from all over the world, without any compromises for our customers, visitors and guests."
The next INTERSCHUTZ will take place from 20 to 25 June 2022 at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds.
